The Boxcar Children: Surprise Island is an upcoming American children's film based on the novel of the same name by Gertrude Chandler Warner. The film is directed by Mark Jean and stars Joanna "JoJo" Levesque, Jake T. Austin, and Madeline Carroll. The film follows the Alden children as they are sent to live on an island after their parents are killed in a train crash. The children must learn to survive on their own and face many challenges, including a mysterious ghost. The film is set to be released on January 18, 2019.
