The Sense of an Ending is a 2017 drama film directed by Ritesh Batra and starring Jim Broadbent, Charlotte Rampling, and Harriet Walter. The film is based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Julian Barnes. The film follows Tony Webster (Broadbent), a retired English professor who is haunted by his past after receiving a mysterious letter. The letter leads him to Veronica Ford (Rampling), a woman he knew in his youth, and he begins to question his own memories and the choices he made in his life.
