"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is an upcoming American epic space opera film directed by Gareth Edwards and written by Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy. It is the first installment in the Star Wars anthology series and a prequel to the original 1977 film Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. The film stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen, and Forest Whitaker. The film follows a group of Rebel Alliance fighters who, together with a defecting Imperial pilot, must steal the plans for the Death Star, the Galactic Empire's superweapon.
