2 Broke Girls is an American television sitcom created by Michael Patrick King and Whitney Cummings that premiered on the CBS network on September 19, 2011. The series was loosely based on the real-life experiences of actress and co-creator Whitney Cummings, and follows the lives of two young waitresses, Max Black (Kat Dennings) and Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs), as they attempt to start a cupcake business in Brooklyn, New York.
