Twinkling Watermelon Synopsis

A chance encounter at a mysterious music shop leads a gifted but isolated high school student on an extraordinary journey through time in this heartfelt Korean drama. Eun-gyeol (played by Ryeoun), a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) who feels torn between his responsibilities as his family’s interpreter and his own dreams of becoming a musician, finds himself mysteriously transported back to 1995. There, he meets his father, Ha Yi-chan (portrayed by Choi Hyun-wook), not as the stern, silent man he knows, but as a vibrant, guitar-playing teenager. Determined to rewrite his family’s future, Eun-gyeol joins his father’s fledgling band, the “Twinkling Watermelon,” and navigates the complexities of his parents’ youth. Blending coming-of-age drama with fantasy and music, the series explores the bonds of family, the bittersweet nature of first love, and the power of youthful dreams. As Eun-gyeol forges unexpected friendships and faces the challenges of a bygone era, he must decide how much of the past he is willing to change.
