What happens when a salaryman meets his end in a traffic accident only to awaken as a sentient blade in a fantasy world? This is the central premise of the 2022 anime series. The protagonist, once an ordinary man, is reborn as a powerful, intelligent sword with no memory of his past life. Alone and confused in a forest teeming with monsters, he encounters a young cat-eared girl named Fran, a member of the oppressed Beastman race. Fran, a skilled but inexperienced warrior, discovers the sword and forms a pact with him, naming him Master. The series follows their unlikely partnership as they journey across a vibrant fantasy landscape, with Fran wielding her newfound weapon against formidable foes. Driven by Fran's desire to grow stronger and Master's quest to understand his own origins, the pair's bond deepens through combat and camaraderie. Blending isekai adventure with heartfelt character dynamics, the show delivers a unique tale of friendship and empowerment against a backdrop of magical action and world-building.
