In a world where knowledge is heresy and the pursuit of truth is a capital offense, Orb: On the Movements of the Earth unfolds as a gripping historical drama set in 15th-century Europe. The series follows a young and brilliant astrologer who becomes obsessed with the heretical idea that the Earth revolves around the Sun, a theory that directly challenges the Church’s geocentric doctrine. Driven by an insatiable curiosity and a dangerous defiance, he teams up with a mysterious and persecuted scholar, risking everything to document their forbidden discoveries. Their journey is fraught with relentless persecution from the Inquisition, forcing them to operate in the shadows as they decode ancient texts and conduct clandestine observations. The show masterfully blends tense intellectual thriller with profound philosophical inquiry, exploring themes of faith, reason, and the immense personal cost of scientific revolution. As the stakes escalate and their enemies close in, the pair must decide how far they are willing to go to illuminate the true nature of the cosmos.
