Hopeless Synopsis

In the not-too-distant future of 2026, "Hopeless" follows the misadventures of a group of twenty-somethings whose grand life plans have spectacularly imploded, forcing them to move back into their childhood homes. At the center of this comedic chaos is Leo, played by Justice Smith, a once-promising app developer whose revolutionary idea was just bought and buried by a tech giant, leaving him broke and moving into his parents' renovated garage. He’s reluctantly reunited with his equally adrift childhood friends, including the overly optimistic aspiring actress Mia (Anna Cathcart) and the perpetually scheming finance dropout Ben (Jharrel Jerome), who is convinced his next "sure thing" will be the one that finally works.

Together, they navigate the humiliating terrain of parental curfews, suburban gossip, and the haunting question of what happens when your backup plan needs a backup plan. The series finds its humor in the relatable clash between faded adolescent dreams and adult realities, as this band of misfits attempts to reclaim their independence, one hilariously flawed scheme at a time. With a tone that blends sharp, witty dialogue with heartfelt moments of connection, "Hopeless" is a comedy about the universal struggle to find your path when every door seems to slam shut, proving that sometimes hitting rock bottom is just the beginning of a very funny story.
