Jude (Rob Lowe) and Celine (Gaia Scodellaro) fly to Poland to investigate their first case, Jane Doe, a little girl in a giraffe outfit. She arrived at a hospital after a car crash, was pronounced dead and then came back to life after the comet was announced an hour later. In a conversation with Celine, Jane relays a message from a deceased nun Celine knew.
While on the lam, Rhonda (Jenna Fischer) is captured by Buddy (Nick Offerman), a cross-dressing do-gooder who calls the police. Leanne (Megan Mullally), who's been eavesdropping, shows up in a sheriff's uniform and takes Rhonda "into custody." With the world against them, Rhonda and Leanne decide to work together.
Scotty (Kyle Soller) tells his sister, Rhonda, he's unable to find Rhonda's son, Spike (Fabian McCallum). Scotty visits Rhonda's husband to discover his hospital room is being watched. Later, Scotty meets with Gaines (Paterson Joseph) and expresses trepidation about lying to the populace. Gaines comforts him with a kiss.
Jamie's (Mathew Baynton) captor, Skye, goes into labor, and he delivers her baby. She realizes he's not Ariel after noticing his dirty hands. Skye tells him she grew up in a commune with Ariel and Mary, Jamie's mom. Mary is now in a psychiatric care facility in Scotland.
Spike is miserable living with his abusive biological father. When Ariel finds Spike and introduces himself as The White Horse, Spike is starstruck and agrees to leave with him. Ariel wants Spike to hack into the NSA to gain access to facial recognition software so Ariel can find Jamie's wife, Layla.
A mysterious couple enters a mansion in Slough and is given orders by a sick woman behind plastic to find Rhonda, Scotty, Jude and Ariel.
