Whitney Episode 2.06 Two Broke Hearts

Alex can't seem to stop sneezing, and Whitney suspects that he's getting sick. Lily shows up to the bar with Eddie, her new boyfriend. Eddie seems like the perfect guy, except for one small issue: he can't seem to finish his own sentences. The gang is immediately annoyed by Eddie's peculiar speech habit.

Back at their apartment, Whitney suspects that Alex may be allergic to something in the apartment. Alex goes downstairs to Mark's apartment while Whitney sets up a doctor's appointment. Later, Alex realizes that he hasn't sneezed at all since he's been at Mark's. Whitney shows up and Alex immediately begins sneezing again. Alex is allergic to Whitney!

Alex and Whitney go to the doctor's office, where Whitney quickly admits that she's been wearing a new perfume that's irritating Alex's allergies. When Whitney mentions that she has an irregular heartbeat, the doctor suggests that she undergo some tests to make sure she's healthy. She reluctantly agrees.

Back at Low Bar, the gang struggles to tolerate Eddie's irritating speech pattern. Lily lectures her friends about their rude behavior, complaining about how they keep finishing Eddie's sentences. Mark, RJ and Roxanne are doing their best to tolerate Eddie, but it's not easy.

After giving Whitney an EKG, the doctor confirms that she has an irregular heartbeat. He'll need to check her medical records from five years ago to determine if the condition is getting better or worse. In the meantime, he advises Whitney to avoid stress and be health-conscious. Alex vows to keep Whitney healthy and stress-free.

Lily's new boyfriend, Eddie, meets her outside of Low Bar and asks to talk to her before they go in. Eddie tells Lily that he's at an important point in his life, but before he can finish his sentence, Lily interrupts him and assumes that he's breaking up with her. After a long, self-deprecating rant, Eddie tells Lily that he was going to invite her to come live with him in San Diego. Now, he'd rather just break up with her. Lilly is not surprised.

Whitney and Alex receive the doctor's test results in the mail. Whitney nervously opens the envelope to discover that her heart condition has actually improved over the last five years. She says the only thing that has changed is that she got together with Alex, which means that he's improving her life by taking care of her.

Later, RJ goes to the doctor claiming to be sick. The doctor tells him that he's perfectly healthy. When it comes time for RJ to provide his insurance information, RJ suddenly feels great and darts out of the doctor's office.
