Trying to put the recent revelations concerning the truth of his release from prison behind him, Peter casts an eye towards a new job as section chief in D.C., and a possible future without Neal Caffrey. Yet despite his best efforts, Peter can't seem to make peace with his CI's betrayal, or Agent Seigel's murder.
And Peter isn't the only one with unfinished business. Neal hopes the stained glass window will be the leverage he needs to finally sever ties with Curtis Hagen, but when Hagen flashes a live feed of Rebecca gagged and bound, it's quite clear who is dictating the terms of their new bargain. With Rebecca's life on the line, Neal and Mozzie must now decipher the hidden message within the 13th chapter of the codex, leading to a mysterious treasure.
Meanwhile, when the FBI is called in to investigate a potential forgery at an auction house, the piece is soon revealed to be the work of Curtis Hagen. Neal realizes that the only way to save Rebecca will be to turn the tables on Hagen before Peter has a chance to capture the Dutchman for a second time. Of course, Hagen has his own grand design, and he intends to see it through to the end. But when his plans set in motion a shocking chain of events, even he may not foresee the final outcome...
