Peter is giddy when the appearance of a stolen shipping crate containing a fossilized dinosaur egg kicks off a hunt for a missing Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton. The search soon leads to corporate raider Brett Forsythe, a man who is used to taking what he wants, legally or perhaps otherwise. Forsythe is too smart to implicate himself, but the thief he may have hired to do his dirty work proves less so, and the FBI soon nab him when he resurfaces to steal the egg for a second time.
Elsewhere, Peter's suspicion of Neal continues to quietly grow, and when he learns that his CI has a new lady in his life it soon leads to an awkward encounter. At the same time, Neal must decide just how much of himself he is willing to expose as his feelings for Rebecca deepen.
Meanwhile, the thief confirms that Forsythe has the T. Rex, but the team still has no way of knowing where he may be keeping it. Not wanting to put the real egg in play, Peter asks Neal and Mozzie to forge a replica in the hopes that it will entice Forysthe into leading them to its mama. But as Neal will soon learn, Forsythe isn't one to miss details, nor is he afraid to get tough with anyone who would try to put him on the losing end of a deal...
