The hunt for Barbie is on as Big Jim steadily gains more control over the townspeople in the dome, who are naively willing to give up their rights in order to feel protected. The kids' connection to the mini-dome gets stronger once they must protect it from the wrong hands, although Junior desires to protect his father more than the egg after the violent vision the mini-dome showed them. Angie aids and abets the wrongfully accused Barbie in hiding Julia away from Big Jim, who will surely kill her once she gains consciousness and can testify that Barbie is not the one who shot her. Carolyn and Norrie are brought closer together when Carolyn realizes the extent to which Big Jim will go to assume all control. Dodee makes a fatal mistake in trusting Big Jim, and pays for it with her life.
