Mr. Sunshine Episode 1.06 Lingerie Football

It's the San Diego Seduction versus the Seattle Mist in a game of lingerie football at the Sunshine Center. Ben is a big fan of the opposing team's star quarterback, Jessie. That's because she has meaningless sex with him whenever the Mist rolls into town. It's just another argument as to why football is America's favorite sport.

Crystal needs Ben's help with an audit. There's lots of paperwork to sift through, so they may have to pull an all-nighter. That'll cut into Ben's quality time with his favorite QB. There's no getting out of it. Crystal really needs Ben to help her through this crisis. She even orders pies!

Crystal takes Ben into her secret back office. It's a cozy, frightening little hideaway featuring surveillance monitoring of the men's locker room. Ben ropes Roman into keeping Jessie entertained until he's available. Heather's not happy about this. She really likes Roman. He likes her, too. He's just been unable to express his feelings. Roman better step up his game though. Heather's prison pen pal recently sent her a love note, along with the tip of his cellmate's finger. Who says cons aren't romantic?

Alonzo is entertaining a couple of obnoxious Internet billionaire brothers. He's hoping they'll donate gobs of loot for a new children's center. Alice offers to help close the deal, but Alonzo feels he has everything under control. He doesn't. The billionaire boys club is heading for the door until Alice steps in. She says a couple of the lingerie football players would like to meet the guys after the game. Score!

Alice is the steady quarterback in a luxury box football game featuring scantily-clad ladies and brothers with billions. Alonzo is surprised to learn that the shots his girlfriend has been downing are filled with apple juice. Alice needs to keep her wits about her so she can play the inebriated brothers against each other. Soon the boys are in a bidding war to see who will donate more for the children's center. Score again!

Ben discovers there is no audit. Crystal just wants company on the anniversary of the day she married her third husband, Billy (guest star James Taylor). Her former hubby hangs out at a bar not far from the Sunshine Center. Ben convinces Jessie to stay put a little longer while he accompanies his boss to Billy's bar. Crystal's suddenly psyched to cruise down there to get some closure. They take her hog.

Billy is a singer and Crystal used to be in his band. She says, "We were like Ike and Tina Turner but without the edge and none of the hitting." The called themselves Billy, Crystal and Friends. That well-placed comma saved them from a lot of lawsuits. Crystal's insatiable need for wealth and success made her walk away from true love. That's why this night is so hard for her. It's also why Ben is willing to forgo time with his lingerie lady to stay with his friend.

Remember how we said Roman couldn't tell Heather how he felt about her? Well, he says it all to Jessie. Luckily, Heather hears every word. This incredibly romantic moment leads Jessie to realize that sex means nothing without love. This won't bode well for Ben, who is still stuck at the bar. He eventually persuades Crystal to take to the stage to do one more song with Billy. It's a nice little number that draws cheers from the crowd. Looks like Crystal got closure!
