The Millers Episode 1.14 Carol's Surprise

It's Carol's birthday and the family has never been able to throw a successful surprise party for her, so they try very hard to finally do it. Nathan lays out a master plan to trick Carol and throw her off the scent of the party, but she winds up spotting some very minute flaws in his plan and comes home just in time to ruin yet another surprise party. Frustrated, Nathan tries to surprise her one final time by sneaking up on her in the back seat of Ray's car, but she gets scared and sprays him in the face with pepper spray. When the entire family accompanies Nathan to the hospital for treatment, he pulls the bandages off his eyes and shouts, "Surprise!" as many of Carol's friends appear beside them in the hospital. Nathan reveals that he masterfully coordinated the events of the entire day, right down to the failed first party and fake pepper spray, to ensure that Carol couldn't figure it out. Carol is touched by the gesture and thrilled that she was finally able to be surprised.
