Carol surprises the family when she reveals that she had purchased cemetery plots for everyone a few years ago. However, given her divorce from Tom and Nate's divorce from Janice, Carol wants to reconfigure where everyone should lay in their plots. Debbie and Adam get upset when Carol tells them that they need to double up in one plot. Carol asks Nate to ask Janice, who works at Nate’s TV station as a news anchor, to get her to sign over her plot back to Carol since she is no longer part of the family. When Nate asks Janice, they get into an argument and Janice refuses to sign over the plot. Tom doesn't see why he has to be buried with everyone and tells everyone that he sold his plot to someone online and is planning to be buried in Hawaii. Debbie and Adam agree to join him.
