Lisbon is able to pull Jane away from his plans to break Lorelei Martins out of a maximum security facility long enough to get his help on their latest case. The CBI is investigating the death of Cassie Flood, a perky newscaster whose car careened off a windy mountain road. It looks like an accident at first, but Jane soon realizes that foul play was involved. Their investigation soon leads to billionaire Tommy Volker, a young, smooth talking philanthropist. When Lisbon and Jane uncover evidence that Cassie was about to blow the whistle on Volker's shady dealings, they start to suspect that he is far more devious than anyone realizes.
