When the body of a hedge-fund manager goes missing after his murder, the CBI must track it down while also investigating the mystery behind the killing. Jane must once again work with old foe coroner Steiner, (Eps. 202 and 215), though his attitude is now much different. The coroner is dying, and the loss of the body has made him question his sense of purpose. Jane helps him out, enlisting him to help with a plan to see if the victim's wife or mother had anything to do with the murder. In the process of their investigation, they discover that the victim claimed to have been abducted by aliens in the very spot where his body was found. Meanwhile, Van Pelt, Rigsby, and O'Laughlin check out a suspicious tissue bank where the body could have been sold for use as spare parts.
