Kath & Kim Episode 1.05 Dating

Kath's skin is breaking out due to an allergic reaction to strawberries that Phil fed her. Kim accuses her mom of being weak and desperate. She hints that maybe Phil and Kath don't really know each other at all.

Kim and her recently reunited best friend, Tina, have decided to go speed dating to find rich men. Kim finds Craig at the mall and tells him the news. He reminds her that they are still married. Kim reminds Craig that he has already chosen his dog over her, so she has to move on.

Kath is determined to prove she knows everything about Phil, but is shocked when she finds out that Phil belongs to a flower group. Kim has also pointed out Phil's twitch, which Kath thought was just a wink this whole time. Kath is beginning to believe that maybe she really doesn't know Phil, after all.

Tina and Kim head to the Courtyard Marriot and speed date. Tina ends up hooking up with the first guy she meets, where Kim just wants to find a sugar daddy and ends up leaving.

Kath finally breaks down and starts telling Phil she doesn't even know the real him. He has no idea where Kath's sudden behavior is coming from. Kath is more concerned than ever that she and Phil are the next Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney.

Craig takes the day off and insists that Kim and Ginger bond for the day. Kim still hates the dog and tells Craig that she met several potential suitors the night before. Tina interrupts her to tell Craig that Kim hated speed dating. Craig points out that Kim hates it because she only wants to be with him.

Phil offers to give Kath a crash-course lesson on every detail of his life, starting with the house he was born in. Kim feels so much closer to Phil after listening to his childhood stories. The mood shifts when Kath admits she's allergic to strawberries and lied to Phil about it.

Kath unloads her heart and tells Phil it shouldn't matter that they don't know everything about one another, they are in love. Just as the two begin to get frisky in the front seat, police lights start flashing. Phil comments that he and Kath now have a first place where they almost got busted for indecent exposure.

Kim tries speed dating again, but realizes she does love Craig and only Craig. He comes and picks her up. Kim is relieved to see Craig, but goes right back to being mad when she sees Ginger sitting in the front seat. Craig is happy because now Kim is forced to bond with his dog on the way home.
