After Sarah witnesses the murder of a farmhand and agrees to testify against the bikers who killed him, she and her husband reluctantly relocate to Albuquerque. The sudden exposure to modern life, with all its technology and temptations, proves challenging. And as Mary and Marshall soon discover, there's more to this couple's problems than trouble operating their new-fangled television set and cell phones: they're hiding something, and whatever it is could turn out to be deadly.

Meanwhile Mary, fresh off a six-week stint mentoring marshal trainees, is slowly making a shocking discovery of her own - one that could mean her life is also about to change in a very unexpected, and very major way.
