Mary is surprised to get a call from longtime witness Sharon Harris, a drug dealer-turned-devoted-PTA mom who's stayed out of trouble for years. And when she meets Sharon, Mary is in for two unpleasant new surprises: one, there are no homemade cookies in sight; and two, Sharon's teenage daughter Beth has somehow gotten her hands on her mom's old mugshot and is about to unravel the truth about Sharon's past.
When it turns out that Beth's info on Sharon came courtesy of an upcoming episode of a real-life crime show, Stan quickly goes to work trying to prevent the show from airing. Meanwhile Mary, an expert on disappointing mothers, tries to help Beth pick up the pieces. But unfortunately for Beth, Sharon isn't the only one in the family with a mysterious past - Beth's dad Karl is harboring a secret of his own, one that threatens to tear Beth's life apart for good.
As Mary tries to convince Sharon to do what's best for Beth, Jinx proves that she's got her daughter's back as she puts her own wishes aside and expertly cons the Alperts into offering to throw Brandi and Peter an elaborate wedding. Hopefully for Beth, Jinx won't be the only mom in town willing to do whatever it takes to give her daughter a shot at a happy ending.
