When Monroe's (Silas Weir Mitchell) Uncle Felix comes into possession of some ancient Grimm books, his nephew is the first person he calls. Felix asks Monroe if Nick (David Giuntoli) would be interested in buying them, but warns him to be careful when discussing their existence. After seeing photos of the books, Nick says he's in and has Monroe leave his uncle a message. Only Felix doesn't return the call; he shows up in Portland. Black Claw has also learned about the books and has already killed to obtain them. Felix tells Nick he wants $100,000 for them and gives him 24 hours to produce the money.
But the transaction never gets to pass when Nick, Hank (Russell Hornsby) and Wu (Reggie Lee) are called to the site of Felix's murder. With Black Claw now closing in, Nick turns to Hadrian's Wall, who identifies the killers as a pair of Anubis. After searching Felix's phone, Wu discovers he was expecting a shipment. The gang deduces the Anubis stole the shipping order from Felix's hotel room and set out to intercept them at the cargo company. When Nick and Monroe arrive, the Anubis are already there, but a revenge-seeking Monroe makes quick work of killing them.
At the Spice Shop, the gang empties the trunk and finds not only the 20 Grimm books, but a cache of weapons. Upon closer inspection, one of the books is revealed to be a history of Grimm lineages, chronicling all of the families in which Grimms have been born, including Nick's. But the biggest discovery of the night is made by Monroe, who realizes the lock on the trunk is actually a secret compartment. And inside it? Three keys.
