Alicia comes to the aid of Elsbeth Tascioni, who has been arrested in order to keep her from a hearing in which her client, an Olympic runner, is suing a sponsor over nonpayment. Will fills in for Elsbeth at the hearing, which turns serious when the runner is charged with doping and is banned from an upcoming race. Will and Diane represent Elsbeth's client in front of an international tribunal where the burden of proof is on the accused and the rules of the American judicial system do not apply.
Zach discovers a document on Maddie Hayward's website showing that she intends to attack Peter over racial bias. Eli tells him to address the issue head on, while Jordan advises him to leave the issue alone. Peter decides to speak in front of the Black Coalition, and is surprised when his speech is poorly received.
