Three men convicted as teenagers in 1991 for the murder of a 14-year-old boy are released from prison two decades later from a legal technicality, known as the Alford Plea. When one of the men ends up murdered shortly thereafter, all signs point to the person with the most motive, the victim’s father. But when new evidence proves the murderer used the same weapon as the 1991 killing, the CSI team races to unravel the original case, which will lead them to the modern day killer. In the end it’s revealed that one of the three men was wrongly convicted of the 1991 murder and wanted to seek revenge for spending 20 years in prison.
