Ellie's evil mom, Betsy (guest star Susan Blakely), is in town. Well, Ellie thinks she's evil. The rest of the Cul-de-Sac Crew thinks Betsy is quite lovely. Only Grayson says this aloud though. Rookie mistake by the new guy. Yeah, we know the G-man isn't really new, but he should know by now to never go against Ellie. Of course, the cat's out of the bag once Jules admits she likes Betsy, too.

Ellie hides Jules behind a counter so she can overhear some of Betsy's venomous comments. The plan works to perfection, as evidenced by the tears Jules has streaming down her face. Ellie can't remember her mom ever saying one nice thing about her. Jules makes it her mission is to get Betsy to pay her daughter a compliment. She cranks up her inner-meanness so she can relate to Betsy, who simply refuses to say anything nice. That doesn't stop Jules from telling Ellie that Betsy called her a great mom.

Andy advises Grayson to dig deeper with his friends so that he can shed his "new guy" status. For example, it's always been Laurie's lifelong dream to own a cake shop. Yes, she's a baker! She has a variety of themed treats. Laurie believes her boob-shaped cupcakes will sell twice as fast as any of the others. After all, it would be weird to buy just one boob, right?

Laurie bakes Grayson a giant ladybug cake which he sells to his customers at the bar. He then adds her creations to his menu. You can now buy Krazy Kakes by Laurie Keller at Gray's Pub. The Pregnant Mermaid sounds especially tasty. Grayson even got Laurie a new oven so she can bake right there in the bar. Too bad she's afraid of failing. Grayson ultimately convinces her to roll the dice and sell some cakes. Sweet!

Travis wants to do something to let others know that his house is the party place to be at his college. He enlists the help of his dad to steal the cougar statue that's on campus. It's odd that the school has such a statue since nothing there has anything to do with cougars. So, so odd. Anyway, the statue is pretty big so they need the help of Chick and his horse trailer. Too bad he forgets to unload the horse.

Jules shows up just in time to help steal the statue. She loves when they do things as a family. She also has a heart-to-heart chat with Chick, who lets her know that being part of a family is something you have to earn. You don't get a free ride just because you're related. That's why Jules comes clean to Ellie about Betsy, who unemotionally skips out of town. That's cool. Ellie still has Jules. That's all the family she needs.
