Wes and Travis scoff when Dr. Ryan assigns a role-reversing exercise during group, but when the detectives spend a little time in each other's shoes, the process becomes illuminating in ways they never expected.

Meanwhile, Wes and Travis investigate the murder of local cupcake shop owner Beth Boyd. The case is rare in that before Beth was strangled to death, she was able to make a 911 call and actually ID her attacker: her husband Kevin Boyd. And as it turns out, Kevin was so drunk on the night of the murder that he can't even recall his own whereabouts.

It all seems pretty open and shut, but the more Wes and Travis look at the case, the more the loose ends become apparent. For starters, Kevin just doesn't seem like a killer, and when Wes and Travis retrace Kevin's evening it soon becomes clear that a murder just didn't fit into his schedule. Then again, why does a DNA test confirm Kevin's skin under his wife's fingernails? Something in the case doesn't stack up, and the detectives are going to need Kevin's help to get to the bottom of it. Little do they realize that Kevin is so distraught, he's ready to do something drastic. Very drastic.
