Picking up a case that began at Med, Intelligence investigates several women who received unnecessary and lethal chemotherapy treatments. Voight (Jason Beghe) finds a troubling personal connection when he learns that the doctor at the center of the case also treated his late wife, Camille. The investigation reveals that the doctor knowingly gave his patients chemotherapy for cancers none of them had.

After Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Lindsay (Sophia Bush) interview several key witnesses and dozens of potential cases are discovered, the doctor is put on trial. Chicago Med's Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) clandestinely befriends the doctor - and is then able to provide crucial testimony about the doctor's sociopathic tendencies. Against the assistant district attorney's advice, Voight takes the stand and brings up the fact that his late wife was also treated by the doctor. What seemed like a bad move on Voight's part turns out to be a ploy, as by bringing up his wife, all of the other cases the doctor was involved in are allowed as evidence. The doctor is found guilty and sentenced immediately. His stay in jail proves brief, however, when he is stabbed to death in his cell that evening.

Roman (Brian Geraghty) is sidelined to a desk while his wrongful shooting investigation begins. Burgess (Marina Squerciati) interviews Denny, the brother of the shooting victim, and gets crucial information regarding the possible whereabouts of the victim's missing gun.
