Wine of the Week: 2008 Infinity White Blend (60% Grenache Blanc, 40% Viognier), Central Coast of California - The Rhone Valley in France produces some of the world's finest varieties, and is the birthplace of the term 'Rhone varieties'. The Central Coast of California has adopted these varieties and now makes some of the finest examples available. Some of the more popular white Rhone varieties include the spicy and aromatic Viognier, and the balanced and rich Grenache Blanc. The blend in this wine hits both notes, rich and spicy, and with a motorcycle riding doctor, surrogate troubles, and Chemotherapy blues, a wine with some range is just the ticket for this week's 'Party'.

Kitty is thinking about alternatives to chemotherapy. She believes that her driven, stressed out, Type-A personality may be behind her cancer. She feels that if she somehow gave cancer the opportunity to grow in her body then she has the responsibility to change. Sarah tries to show support, but when Kitty catches her arguing with Nora, she feels that neither of them is taking her seriously. She just wants to be left alone.

Scotty's dad shows up in a mask and cape. He's not a "real" superhero, but there's a comic book convention in town and he likes to dress the part. He gets bonus points for almost scaring Kevin to death. Unfortunately, Superdad has bad news for his son when he announces that his mother left him. As bummed out as he is to hear the news about his parents, Scotty is enjoying the time he's now spending with his dad. He tells him about his plans to have a baby and the financial difficulties they are having.

When Scotty sees his father getting chummy with a woman, he eventually figures out that she's the reason his mom left and exits in a huff. Later, he realizes that his dad was never happy with his mom. A package arrives from Scotty's dad. It's a valuable Captain America comic book. The note reads, "Scotty, here's something to help you guys pay for the baby. Call me when you're ready. I love you, Dad." Make that, Superdad.

There's a new candidate in the primary, a racist blowhard named Barry Henderson. Kevin advises Robert not to get into anything with Henderson at an upcoming unemployment symposium. Robert complies. But afterwards, Henderson taunts him and Robert lets him have it. He tells Henderson that if he keeps up his racist, xenophobic garbage he'll take him down and it won't be pretty. We love it. Kevin…not so much once he discovers that the rant was caught on camera. Now others who share Henderson's views will be lining up to fund his campaign. Still, Robert doesn't regret what he said because it was the truth.

Nora can't keep her mind on the cancer fundraising benefit she's running. She meets Simon Craig (guest star Jon Tenney), an oncologist who is volunteering at the center. Simon thinks she needs to clear her head, so he offers her a ride on his motorcycle. Much to our surprise, Nora agrees. Simon is kinda cute. Burn rubber, Nora!

At the cancer benefit, Simon asks Nora out on a second date. Guess her venture into biker chick world was their first date. Justin and Rebecca desperately want to know how it feels to ride a "hog." And Sarah wants to know if Kitty has been giving Nora the cold shoulder, too. Yep, she has.

As Nora gives her speech, Kitty runs her fingers through her hair. It's falling out in clumps. Nora finds her daughter crying in the bathroom. Kitty asks, "Why can't I understand this? Why did this have to happen to me?" Nora is a wise woman, but we all know that she doesn't have the answer to that one. Kitty needs to go home. The rest of the family watches as she and Robert walk out of the benefit. He puts his arm around his wife and says, "I got your back."

Rebecca has had the flu and it's knocked the wind out of her. Justin is concerned that it may be something more serious. But after a chat with Simon, he realizes the simplest diagnosis might be the correct one. He asks, "Are you pregnant?" She says she isn't and that satisfies him, but not us. We see the nervous look on Rebecca's face. Our suspicions are confirmed when we see her holding a home pregnancy test. It looks positive to us.

At home, Kitty takes a razor and shaves off all her hair. Nora and Sarah wait outside the bathroom door for support. They chat about Nora's new biker doc and she blushes. We're thinking that second date will be happening sooner rather than later. Kitty emerges from the bathroom. Their eyes open wide with amazement. A completely bald Kitty says, "I look like an Ojai peach." Nora looks into her daughter's eyes and says, "I think you have the most beautifully shaped head." She's such a mom.
