When Sophie offers the girls an opportunity to join her cleaning company part time, Max and Caroline jump at the chance to make more money for their cupcake business. But before they are allowed to work for one of Sophie's real clients, she tests their abilities by making them clean her apartment. Sophie is impressed by Max's skills, but believes that Caroline is holding her back. She tells Max that she is like a balloon tied to a rock Caroline - who is keeping her from reaching her potential. Even though Caroline isn't very good at cleaning, Max realizes that they are both alternately rocks and balloons, helping each other though difficult times.
