Bad Sisters Synopsis

In the picturesque yet claustrophobic setting of Dublin, the five Garvey sisters are bound by an unbreakable pact: to protect one another at any cost. When their abusive brother-in-law, John Paul, is found dead, the sisters instantly become the prime suspects in his murder. This darkly comedic thriller weaves between the present-day investigation led by a tenacious insurance agent and flashbacks revealing the sisters' mounting desperation. At the heart of the story is the tight-knit sibling bond between Sharon Horgan, Anne-Marie Duff, Eva Birthistle, Sarah Greene, and Eve Hewson, each playing a sister with distinct motivations and secrets. As the layers of their complicated lives with John Paul are peeled back, the series masterfully balances pitch-black humor with genuine suspense, exploring themes of family loyalty, trauma, and the lengths one will go to for freedom. The central question lingers: did one of them actually kill him, or was his death a tragic accident?
