AceShowbiz - "Sex and the City" star Kim Cattrall has been honored with a university fellowship in her home town of Liverpool. The actress, who was born in Britain and raised in Canada, accepted the academic nod from John Moores University on Monday, July 12.

The 53 year old, who donned cap and gown for the ceremony at Liverpool Cathedral, told graduates the honor was "a dream come true". Proud Cattrall shared the moment with her mother Shane and other relatives.

In a speech to students, she said, "My family is here with me today. My mum, my aunties, my cousins, my friends. They have given me such confidence to make me believe that I could achieve anything I wanted to if I worked hard enough and I stayed true to myself. To all of you graduating today, I want to offer my heartfelt congratulations - you've worked damn hard."
