Angelo Bertolotti's status as Brittany Murphy's father is questioned since his name is left out of the late actress' recently-filed death certificate.

AceShowbiz - Brittany Murphy's estranged father has been mysteriously left off the tragic actress' death certificate. Angelo Bertolotti was a notable absence at the star's funeral in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve [Dec 24] - and now he has failed to make it onto the actress' death certificate, which was filed on Tuesday [Dec 20].
The document, obtained by TMZ.com, lists Murphy's father as 'UNKNOWN', posing questions about her true parentage.
Following the actress' sudden death on December 20, Bertolotti came forward and revealed he hadn't seen the "Just Married star since 2006. He told news agencies he would not be attending her Christmas Eve funeral because he didn't want to see the body of his daughter.
He said, "I was very shocked by it [her death]. I can't believe it really. It happened so fast, I'm just trying to figure it all out right now. I'm very upset by it. If I wanted to go [to the funeral] I would go, but I don't want to see her that way. She was flawless to me. She was a little bright child. I have only good memories about her. She's a memory to me now. To me she's off making a movie somewhere."
The manner of Murphy's passing is listed as "pending investigation" on the death certificate, while the possibilities include accident, natural, homicide, suicide and undetermined. The Los Angeles County Coroner is awaiting toxicology and tissue tests to determine the cause of death.
