AceShowbiz - The official teaser trailer and key art for the horror film I Have Proof have been released. The film is written and directed by James Cullen Bressack.

The teaser offers a first look at the psychological horror, which carries a run time of 77 minutes. The film stars Larsen Deane, Lilly Van der Meer, Augie Duke, B.J. Hendricks, Kelly Lynn Reiter and David Josh Lawrence.

Production companies on the project are Sandaled Kid, JCB Pictures and Robotic Donut.

The official synopsis reads: "Alex has proof. He needs you to see it. I Have Proof is a psychological descent where reality is never quite what it seems."

The film is a horror title with a run time of 77 minutes. A world premiere is scheduled for September 21, 2026.

Bressack also serves as a producer on the film. He is a writer, director and producer whose projects have been released by studios including Sony, Lionsgate, Saban and Cinedigm, and have appeared on platforms and networks such as Hulu, Netflix, Tubi, Paramount+ and Lifetime. Throughout his career he has collaborated with actors including Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Bressack is the son of three-time Emmy Award-winning writer Gordon Bressack and voice actress Ellen Gerstell. He received two Emmy nominations for production in 2023 and 2024, and has 16 years of industry experience, having directed his first feature film at age 18.

In a director's statement, Bressack described the film as a return to a rawer style of horror. "This is me going back to raw, stripped-down horror," he said. He explained that a Letterboxd review from someone who had followed his early work stayed with him. "They said they missed the grungy horror films I made when I was starting out. For whatever reason, that stuck with me. It pushed me to return to that space and make something immediate, visceral, uncomfortable, and real. This is my love letter to that time in my life."

Bressack added that he wanted to challenge himself by making a movie that did not follow conventional rules. "No conventional storytelling structure. No traditional horror language. No telling the audience what to feel or when to feel it. I wanted to see how far I could strip a film down and still make something genuinely frightening," he said.

He also discussed the film's analog approach. "We leaned fully into analog, embracing the imperfections, texture, and unpredictability of the format. I wanted to make something human and handmade. In a time when so much of what we see can be AI generated, manipulated, or polished into perfection, I wanted this movie to feel like something that actually existed," he said.

Regarding the film's secrecy, Bressack said, "I have intentionally revealed almost nothing about the film because I don't want to tell audiences what they're supposed to see. I want them to experience it for themselves, without instructions. The less you know, the better."

Deane, who plays Alex, is a Los Angeles-based actor whose work spans film, theatre and television. He appears as a recurring co-star in FX/Hulu's The Shards and is known for his role as Shelby pit crew member Ronnie Larson in James Mangold's Oscar-winning film Ford v Ferrari.

Van der Meer, who plays Mary, is an Australian actor based in Los Angeles who spent four years as a series regular on Neighbours, appearing in over 300 episodes. Her recent credits include the leading role in the upcoming TV pilot Cancelled, the psychological thriller Tori and the comedy Red Fox Run.

Lawrence provides the voice of Father Jacob and Uncle. He is an actor, writer and producer whose credits include Darkness of Man, The Sheriff, Complex Texas, The Vance Institute and Foster. He previously collaborated with Bressack on The Workout, which he co-wrote and appeared in as Detective O'Brien. He is producing I Have Proof alongside Bressack.

Hendricks is credited as a producer. As an actor and producer he works across action, dark comedy and psychological thrillers. He plays the titular role of Boris in the upcoming feature film Boris Is Dead, opposite an ensemble that includes Dane Cook, Jesse Metcalfe and Steven Bauer. His credits also include Darkness of Man with Jean-Claude Van Damme and Eric Roberts, The Broken Ones with Terrence Howard and Kate Bosworth, and Complex, Texas with Kevin Dillon.
