AceShowbiz - Jay-Z made history by breaking the all-time concert attendance record at Yankee Stadium on two consecutive nights as part of his Jay-Z 30 tour.
The opening night attracted 44,916 paid attendees, marking the largest concert crowd ever recorded at the venue. The following evening surpassed this, drawing 45,832 fans for a special performance celebrating the anniversary of Reasonable Doubt.
Combined, over 90,000 tickets were sold across the weekend, reflecting an intense demand that had been building since tickets went on sale in March. More than 1.6 million fans attempted to purchase tickets for these first two shows.
The initial night focused exclusively on the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt, Jay-Z’s 1996 debut album. The set closed with a nod to the album’s legacy, highlighting how it initially sold 43,000 copies in its first week yet now filled over 45,000 seats for the anniversary show.
Guest appearances punctuated the night, including Nas, who performed classics such as "Dead Presidents," "The World Is Yours," and "N.Y. State of Mind." Beyoncé contributed by singing Mary J. Blige’s part on "Can't Knock the Hustle," while Blue Ivy Carter joined on piano during "Feelin' It."
The second night featured a full performance of The Blueprint album. Special guests included Eminem, who performed "Renegade," and Pharrell Williams, who appeared for tracks he produced on the album.
Jay-Z is extending this momentum beyond New York, with international dates confirmed for the fall. The tour will continue with a performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on September 4, marking his only UK show this year.
Following London, the tour moves to Stade de France in Paris on September 10, before concluding with a stop at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on October 23. Each concert is expected to feature a similar catalog-spanning setlist as seen in New York.
This series of shows represents Jay-Z’s first major solo tour since 2019, marking a significant comeback after more than five years away from headlining solo performances.
