AceShowbiz - The first trailer for Heart of the Beast, starring Brad Pitt, debuted at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, offering a gripping look at the upcoming survival thriller from Paramount Pictures. Directed by David Ayer, the film follows a military veteran stranded in the Alaskan wilderness, fighting to survive alongside his highly trained combat dog.
The preview opens with Pitt’s character sharing a quiet moment with his dog inside a tent. However, the animal becomes restless and begins barking through the night. Flashbacks hint at their shared past in war, before Pitt reassures the dog that it was only a bad dream. The veteran then introduces himself as a former Special Forces operative to a character played by J.K. Simmons, who cryptically warns, “We are in the heart of the beast, and most folks learn that the hard way.”
The trailer intensifies as a plane crash leaves Pitt’s character and his dog stranded. Notably, the dog, distinguished by a silver tooth, emerges as a crucial ally, saving Pitt in a perilous moment. Determined to make it home, the two embark on a hazardous journey through the wilderness. Tensions rise when the dog hesitates to cross a precarious bridge, nearly falling, which leads to Pitt plunging into icy water. The encounter escalates when he confronts a bear, underscoring the brutal environment they must endure.
As the trailer concludes, Pitt’s character vows to do whatever it takes to ensure his dog's survival, highlighting the profound bond between man and animal amid life-threatening adversity.
Brad Pitt is widely recognized for his roles in iconic films such as Thelma & Louise, Interview with the Vampire, Fight Club, the Ocean’s Eleven series, Troy, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, 12 Years a Slave, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
