During a recent performance, Conway The Machine appeared on stage before a small audience where several photos of him alongside his Griselda cohorts—including Benny The Butcher and Westside Gunn—were displayed. Notably, there was one photo featuring the entire group together.

Before starting his set, Conway paused when he noticed that particular photo. After a brief look, he removed it from the stage, pushed it aside, and eventually threw it into the crowd. Then he declared, “Alright, now we ready,” and proceeded with his performance. The moment was dramatic and quickly captured on video.

This clip quickly went viral, igniting rumors that the group might be breaking up. Fans speculated about possible tensions or conflicts behind the scenes.

Reacting to the widespread chatter, Conway The Machine spoke out on social media, calling the speculation unfounded. He said the rap culture tends to sensationalize moments unnecessarily, and this was a perfect example of people trying to create a viral narrative out of nothing.

“As dope as the show was, you don’t post none of the show at all. Instead y’all choose to post THIS, to try to make something out of nothing, to have a viral moment and create a bulls##t narrative,” he explained. He also pointed out that fans had not shared positive moments, such as him signing autographs or spending time with supporters after the concert.

The person who originally posted the video, Van Stylez, soon issued a public apology for stirring controversy. He acknowledged that his intention was to promote the culture, not exploit sensational content for viral fame.

Van Stylez said, “Griselda is one of the greatest rap collectives of all time. Conway has always been gracious and down to earth. This was a reminder to consider how all parties may be affected before posting.” He also expressed respect for Conway, Westside Gunn, and Benny The Butcher.

Conway accepted the apology, indicating there would be no further issues related to this incident.
