Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Venom features Hardy as Eddie Brock, a journalist who becomes bonded with an alien symbiote. The film’s story revolves around Brock’s efforts to expose unethical human experimentation led by the Life Foundation’s Carlton Drake, played by Riz Ahmed.

In February, it was announced that Sony Pictures Animation is developing a new animated Venom film. Directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein are attached to this upcoming project. A writers’ room has been assembled to craft the story, with producers Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach returning.
