AceShowbiz - The Last Temptation of Becky, the upcoming third installment in the underrated Becky action franchise, has added Neil Patrick Harris to its cast as a Nazi villain. The film series first premiered in 2020 with Becky, starring Lulu Wilson as a young girl fighting neo-Nazi attackers at a lake house. The sequel, The Wrath of Becky, followed in 2023 and hinted early on at a third movie, which has now completed production in Northern Ireland.

The new film’s producers, Quiver Distribution and Post Film, officially announced Harris’ casting in The Last Temptation of Becky. He plays Wilhelm Reuss, an innkeeper with a sinister agenda to resurrect the Fourth Reich. The story follows Becky, now a CIA field agent, as she goes undercover in Poland to infiltrate Reuss’ family, who run a tourist operation at Hitler’s WWII bunker, The Wolf’s Lair. Upon discovering Reuss’ true mission, Becky takes decisive action to stop him.

Joining Harris and Wilson in the cast are Brandon Flynn (known for 13 Reasons Why), James Urbaniak (Oppenheimer), and Kate Siegel (The Fall of the House of Usher).

The film is directed by Jenn Wexler, with a screenplay by Matt Angel, based on a story by Angel and Suzanne Coote, who both contributed to the previous film’s writing. Quiver Distribution Co-Presidents Berry Meyerowitz and Jeff Sackman expressed enthusiasm about the new antagonist, stating, "Having Neil Patrick Harris facing off against Lulu Wilson will take this series to a whole new level, and we can't wait for audiences to see what Becky has in store for anyone who dares get in her way."

Although Becky has remained under the radar compared to major blockbusters, the movies have garnered critical praise. The original film holds a 72% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while its sequel improved to 89%. Despite modest box office returns—both films combined grossed under $1.5 million—the franchise has cultivated a strong cult following and shows significant potential for growth.

Lulu Wilson, who previously appeared in The Haunting of Hill House, continues to anchor the series as Becky. The addition of Neil Patrick Harris, known primarily for his comedic work in How I Met Your Mother, marks a notable shift for the franchise. Harris has also portrayed villainous roles in projects such as A Series of Unfortunate Events and The Matrix Resurrections, bringing valuable experience to this darker role.

Fans of Harris will recognize his versatility, with notable credits including Doogie Howser, M.D. and Starship Troopers. His involvement in the franchise could elevate the series’ profile and attract a wider audience.
