One Piece live-action slips to #3 globally. See which countries still crown the Straw Hats and where new challengers are rising on Netflix.
- April 1, 2026
AceShowbiz - One Piece has long been a dominant force on Netflix, especially with the recent release of its second part, Into the Grand Line, which debuted on March 10, 2026. The live-action adaptation of the iconic pirate saga initially held a strong grip on global streaming charts, captivating audiences worldwide and maintaining top rankings in numerous regions.
However, as of March 30, the worldwide streaming landscape is showing signs of change. While One Piece remains the number one show in several countries, its overall global position has dropped to third place. The show still commands impressive daily viewership, particularly in India, Indonesia, Jordan, Peru, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, where it holds the number two spot. In Europe, the picture is more mixed, with One Piece ranking second in Germany, third in Italy, fourth in Austria and Belgium, fifth in France and Spain, and lower placements such as eighth in the Netherlands and tenth in Australia and South Africa. In the United States, the show has slipped to ninth place, down four positions from earlier in the week. For a series of such magnitude, this is by no means a collapse but indicates a noticeable shift in momentum.
The shifting dynamics on Netflix’s global charts can largely be attributed to the surge of a fresh contender, the Norwegian crime thriller Detective Hole. Detective Hole has rapidly climbed the charts to claim the number two spot worldwide, showcasing a broad and aggressive international appeal that challenges the established popularity of One Piece.
Detective Hole has achieved the number one ranking across nearly all of Europe, including countries such as Iceland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and Ukraine. The show also holds strong positions outside Europe, ranking second in Argentina, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Kenya, Lebanon, Lithuania, and Uruguay. It reaches the top four in Canada and Pakistan, and notably maintains the number six position in the United States. This widespread success signals a significant global takeover by a brand-new series against a well-established pop culture phenomenon.
Meanwhile, One Piece continues to be a powerful presence on the platform, especially in specific regions, but it faces stiff competition from Detective Hole, which is rapidly expanding its global footprint. Both series remain available to stream on Netflix, promising viewers diverse options between fantasy adventure and gripping crime thriller genres.
