AceShowbiz - YUNA of K-pop powerhouse ITZY has released her highly anticipated debut solo mini-album Ice Cream on March 23, marking a significant milestone as the second member of the group to embark on a solo career.
The four-track EP showcases YUNA's multidimensional talent through a diverse range of musical styles. The album opens with the focus track "Ice Cream," an upbeat pop dance number designed to get audiences moving. A bright and playful music video accompanies the track, highlighting YUNA's impressive dance abilities and matching the song's energetic vibe.
The mini-album continues with "B-Boy," a hip-hop track featuring an irresistible beat that encourages listeners to surrender control and feel alive in the moment. The third track, "Blue Maze," takes a different direction as an R&B song that blurs the lines between reality and fantasy, taking listeners on an immersive journey. The EP concludes with "Hyper Dream," a disco-influenced track that brings the album full circle by encouraging listeners to embrace the present and live with freedom.
This release represents the second solo venture from an ITZY member, following YEJI's successful debut with AIR. YEJI's solo project received widespread critical acclaim, with NME ranking its title track among the best K-pop songs of 2025. The album also achieved commercial success, reaching No. 6 on the Billboard U.S. World Albums chart.
The solo debut comes at a time when ITZY continues to build momentum as a group. Their most recent mini-album TUNNEL VISION debuted at No. 4 on the U.S. World Albums chart, marking the group's second consecutive release to achieve that position following Girls Will Be Girls. Prior to that, the group released their mini-album GOLD, which reunited all five members and featured fan favorites including "Imaginary Friend" and "VAY," which featured Changbin of Stray Kids.

The group has consistently demonstrated their reputation as "stage masters," showcasing a dynamic mix of hit singles and fan-favorite B-sides tailored for live performance. Since their formation under JYP Entertainment in 2019, ITZY has exploded onto the K-pop scene with their debut single "DALLA DALLA," which ranked No. 3 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart and garnered 17.1 million day-of music video views on YouTube.
The success of "DALLA DALLA" broke records as the most viewed K-pop debut music video in history at the time and held the record for the fastest K-pop debut music video to reach 100 million views. Billboard Magazine ranked the track at No. 20 on their "25 Best K-pop Songs of 2019: Critics' Pick," and the group took home the Best New Artist Award at the 2020 Korean Music Awards.
YUNA's Ice Cream is described as a bubbly and positive album that seeks to highlight how the present is the brightest moment. The album's range of sonic dimensions demonstrates the many sides that make YUNA a powerhouse not only within ITZY but on the broader music scene as a whole.
With this solo debut and ITZY's continued group success, the members are well-positioned to further expand their global presence in 2026 and beyond. The release of Ice Cream is now available across all digital and streaming platforms, accompanied by the official music video for the title track.
