Wesley will portray Frank, a "mysterious but charming stranger" whose arrival in the lives of Nan and Mrs. St. George promises to shake up their world. Set photos featuring Wesley alongside Christina Hendricks’ character, Patti St. George, have surfaced recently, confirming that filming for season 3 has commenced.

Created by Katherine Jakeways and inspired by Edith Wharton’s unfinished novel published posthumously in 1938, The Buccaneers centers on five wealthy American women navigating the rigid social structures of London’s Gilded Age during the 1870s. The series explores themes of cultural conflict, friendship, and romance amid the era’s high society.

The show’s main cast includes Kristine Froseth, Alisha Boe, Aubri Ibrag, Josie Totah, and Imogen Waterhouse as the determined American women. Supporting roles feature Matthew Broome, Josh Dylan, Barney Fishwick, Guy Remmers, and Mia Threapleton.

The upcoming season’s synopsis reveals that the Buccaneers are uniting to face new challenges together: "Our Buccaneers are fighting back. And they're doing it together. When they arrived in England they were all navigating their first loves. Now, they're looking for the loves of their lives, and with a new and enigmatic Duke at the helm, Tintagel is also facing an uncertain future. While Paul Wesley’s character Frank is confirmed, the identity of the "new bad-boy Duke" remains a mystery. This character was introduced at the end of season 2 as Theo’s long-lost half-brother Kit, who may inherit the Duke of Tintagel title after Theo abdicates. Kit’s introduction was teased with scenes showing him only from behind, maintaining the actor’s anonymity.

Adding to the drama, Nan’s world is already complicated before Frank’s arrival. Theo has relinquished his title to divorce Nan and marry Lizzy, while Nan is pregnant with Theo’s child, who might be next in line for the estate and title.
