AceShowbiz - The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox and The Stolen Girl, two Hulu Original series, will soon be part of an extended content-sharing partnership between Disney+ and U.K. broadcaster ITV. The shows are set to air on ITV1 during primetime and will also be available on the streaming service ITVX, under the banner "Disney+ presents a Hulu Original."
The psychological drama The Stolen Girl is scheduled to premiere on ITV1 on February 25. Produced by Quay Street Productions in collaboration with Brightstar, the series follows a family coping with the disappearance of their young daughter during a sleepover. This show originally launched on Disney+ in April 2025.
Following later in the year, The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox recounts the gripping true crime story that captured attention in both the U.K. and U.S. It dramatizes the investigation surrounding a British exchange student murdered in Italy and the subsequent arrest of her American roommate.
The collaboration between Disney+ and ITV began with a licensing agreement in 2023 and quickly grew into a cross-promotional effort. This initiative allowed both platforms to highlight select titles from each other's services, branded as "Taste of ITVX" and "Taste of Disney+," giving viewers access to a curated range of content.
In addition to this partnership, Disney has recently signed a multi-year agreement with U.K. broadcaster Sky. This deal will include Disney+ in a bundled package alongside Netflix and HBO Max, offering subscribers cost savings. It will also introduce a new Disney+ Cinema linear channel on Sky's electronic program guide (EPG).
Karl Holmes, general manager for Disney+ EMEA, stated that the extension marks an exciting development in their relationship with ITV. He emphasized the opportunity to bring two of Disney's most compelling original series to ITV's primetime audience, thereby exposing millions more viewers to Hulu Originals available on Disney+.
Kevin Lygo, managing director of media and entertainment at ITV, expressed enthusiasm about deepening the partnership with Disney. He highlighted that featuring these premium original series in ITV's primetime schedule enhances the viewing experience and underscores the success of the content-sharing model initiated the previous summer.
With this renewed collaboration, both Disney+ and ITV continue to strengthen their content offerings in the competitive U.K. television market, leveraging popular original series to attract and engage wider audiences.
