AceShowbiz - Hulu has unveiled the full trailer for the highly anticipated revival, Malcolm in the Middle, titled Life’s Still Unfair. The new series is set to premiere on Friday, April 10, with all four episodes available simultaneously on the streaming platform.
The original cast members Frankie Muniz (Malcolm), Jane Kaczmarek (Lois), Bryan Cranston (Hal), Christopher Masterson (Francis), and Justin Berfield (Reese) return to reprise their iconic roles from the Fox classic. Notably, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark, known for his role on "Wynonna Earp," takes over the role of Dewey, replacing Erik Per Sullivan.
The trailer opens with a memorable scene where Hal receives a full-body shave from Lois while on a Zoom call with Dewey—an unexpectedly hilarious moment that sets the tone. We also discover that Malcolm has been deliberately keeping his distance from his family for years. He now has a girlfriend, a daughter, and claims his life is going great. However, as expected from the series, his carefully constructed new life is about to be disrupted when his old family and new family collide.
Joining the revival’s cast are Anthony Timpano from "Riverdale" as Malcolm’s brother Jamie, Vaughan Murrae from "The Way Home" as the youngest sibling Kelly, Kiana Madeira from "Trinkets" as Malcolm’s girlfriend Tristan, and Keeley Karsten from "The Fabelmans" as Malcolm’s daughter Leah. This fresh ensemble complements the returning cast, adding new dynamics to the family story.
The series creator, Linwood Boomer, returns as both writer and executive producer, alongside executive producers Cranston, Tracy Katsky, Gail Berman, and Ken Kwapis. Kwapis also directs all four episodes of the revival.
Malcolm in the Middle originally aired for seven seasons on Fox between 2000 and 2006. The show earned seven Primetime Emmy Awards for writing and directing, plus two additional Emmys for guest star Cloris Leachman. Both Jane Kaczmarek and Bryan Cranston regularly received Emmy nominations for their performances.
