AceShowbiz - Netflix is adding a new layer of excitement to the Squid Game universe with the announcement of Mel B, famously known as Scary Spice, among the celebrity contestants for the upcoming spin-off game show Squid Game: The VIP Challenge.

On March 3, Netflix revealed the lineup for the new series, which will feature seven celebrity contestants alongside one returning player from the original Squid Game. The show promises to be a "stressful, deeply unpredictable, and downright diabolical competition," raising the stakes for these well-known personalities. Mel B shared the news on her Instagram, posting the official announcement video with the caption, “Squid games are about to get REALLY Scary!” Fans quickly rallied behind her, claiming "Team Mel B" in the comments ahead of the show’s release.

Mel B is no stranger to reality competitions. She has previously competed on Dancing With the Stars and served as a judge on several popular shows including The X Factor, The Masked Singer Australia, and Queen of the Universe. Additionally, she was a judge on America's Got Talent from 2013 to 2018, took a break, and then returned to the show last year.

Beyond her involvement in reality TV, 2026 is a milestone year for Mel B and her group, the Spice Girls. It marks 30 years since their debut, and celebrations are underway. The British Royal Mint recently announced a limited-edition commemorative coin featuring the silhouettes of all five members, a first for a female group.
