AceShowbiz - The highly anticipated BBC 6 Music Festival has unveiled its impressive line-up for the 2026 edition, featuring a diverse array of artists. Among the headliners are
Scheduled to take place from March 25 to 28, the festival will be hosted across various independent venues in Greater Manchester, including Band On The Wall, Yes, and the Eccles Town Hall Ballroom. This year's event is poised to celebrate the vibrant independent music scene, extending its reach throughout the region.
The 2026 festival aims to “shine a well-deserved light on independent grassroots venues,” fostering a spirit of community and collaboration among local music lovers. New partnerships with local promoters like FaT OuT and Homobloc will add exciting events to the schedule.
Leading the stellar main line-up are Bloc Party, The Horrors, Yard Act, Courtney Barnett, Kelly Lee Owens, and Jacon Alon, who recently took home the 2026 BRITs Critics’ Choice award. Other notable acts include Lynks, the Manchester/Berlin-based rock band Mandy, Indiana, and the London-born singer-songwriter Tiberius b, also known as Frank Belcourt.
The festival will kick off with local rising talents TTSSFU, Pyncher, and Ellen Beth Adbi performing together at Band On The Wall as part of the BBC Introducing series. Additionally, on the Friday, 6 Music DJs such as Beth Ditto, Steve Lamacq, and Nick Grimshaw will host an ‘Indie Forever’ club night at Yes.
Tickets for the individual events will be available starting at 10am GMT on Thursday, February 12. Fans can purchase tickets through the official festival website.
For those unable to attend, highlights from select performances at Band On The Wall and Yes will be available to stream on-demand for 30 days post-broadcast via BBC iPlayer and BBC Music’s YouTube channel. Additionally, BBC Radio Manchester will air highlights from the BBC Introducing event on Thursday, March 26, at 8pm.
Kele Okereke, frontman of Bloc Party, expressed enthusiasm about the festival, stating: “We can’t wait to return to 6 Music Festival in March. We so rarely get to play these intimate shows anymore, and we’ll be dropping a few surprises on the night too…”
The Horrors also shared their excitement, saying: “The Horrors are super excited to play the 6 Music Festival in March. 6 Music is one of the last big radio stations championing underground music, and we appreciate their ongoing support. Get ready, Manchester!”
Finally, Courtney Barnett hinted at new material, saying she is “really excited to play some new music” during her performance next month.
