AceShowbiz - Ella Langley has made a remarkable mark in country music by achieving her first No. 1 hit on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart with her catchy song “Choosin’ Texas.”
This upbeat country track, co-written by Langley, Grammy winner Miranda Lambert, as well as JoyBeth Taylor and Luke Dick, has climbed to the top of the charts. With this achievement, Langley has become the first female artist to simultaneously hold the top position on Billboard's Hot 100, Country Airplay, and Hot Country Songs charts. Previously, only a few songs have accomplished this feat, including Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help” featuring Morgan Wallen, Shaboozey’s “Tipsy (A Bar Song),” and Wallen’s “Last Night.”
“Choosin’ Texas” has now spent an impressive 11 weeks at the top of the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart and is making its debut at No. 1 on the radio-based Country Airplay chart. The track is part of Langley’s upcoming album, Dandelion, which is set to be released on April 10.
In response to her historic achievement, Langley took to social media to express her gratitude. She shared a heartfelt video on Instagram, captioning it, “We did it!! Choosin’ Texas is the #1 song on the @billboard #Hot100 ?? I can’t thank y’all enough for what you’ve done with this song; it blows my mind every single day. Here’s to women & country music.”
Many fellow artists quickly joined in to celebrate Langley’s success. Miranda Lambert shared a photo of Langley and praised her with the comment “LEGEND.” Co-writer Luke Dick chimed in with “Amen,” while JoyBeth Taylor celebrated with a screenshot of the Hot 100 chart featuring “Choosin’ Texas” at the top, writing, “Making history.”
Support also poured in from other notable artists. Tanya Tucker cheered, “You go girl,” while duo Tigirlily exclaimed, “So huge! Congrats Ella!” George Birge called it “Historic,” and Graham Barham encouraged her with “Go Shawty.” Emily Ann Roberts expressed her pride, stating, “I could literally cry right now I’m so proud.”
Looking ahead, Langley is gearing up for her headlining Dandelion Tour, which kicks off on May 7 in Ohio, featuring support from Kameron Marlowe, Dylan Marlowe, Kaitlin Butts, Gabriella Rose, and Laci Kaye Booth. Additionally, she will open for Eric Church on his Free the Machine Tour and Wallen on his Still the Problem Tour.
