In an era where the value of higher education is frequently debated, 'Euphoria' actress Storm Reid has boldly defended her decision to attend college amid flourishing career.

AceShowbiz - Storm Reid, known for her roles in "Euphoria" and "The Last of Us," is speaking out. The young actress responded to a critical comment on her TikTok that questioned the relevance of her attending college.

The remark stated, "College isn't a flex, success is. And college isn't needed to be successful. College just pushes people into debt. Unless you're becoming a doctor or something, a lot of people don't even use their degrees."

Reid, who is graduating on May 16 from the University of Southern California's School of Dramatic Arts, couldn't ignore the comment. "What do we call my success, plus going to college?" Reid retorted. "My success plus getting a degree? What are we gonna call that? Let me know."

Despite the negativity, Reid remains steadfast in her belief that college was the right choice for her. "College isn't for everybody, but it was for me. I wanted to go. I felt like I needed to go. I was able to do that and work full time. I wanted to work and I wanted to further my education, so I did that," she explained.

Admitted to USC when the acceptance rate was just 12%, which has since dropped to 8%, Reid is justly proud of her accomplishments.

She continued by highlighting her ability to juggle academic responsibilities and professional commitments. "I did that. And I also got an Emmy while doing it, in college, 20 years old, junior in college," Reid pointed out.

"So, babe, again, back to my first question: What do we call being in college - about to graduate, actually - what do we call graduating plus being successful? What do we call it? I would love to know."

As Reid prepares to graduate, her future looks promising. She has two films in the pipeline: "Killing Winston Jones" and "Get Lite", the latter being Teyana Taylor's directorial debut.

Unfortunately for "Euphoria" fans, Reid confirmed that she won't be returning for the show's third season. "I'm very excited for season 3. Unfortunately, Gia's not returning for the third season," she told Rotten Tomatoes during a red carpet interview at the Governors Awards.

Despite her departure from "Euphoria," Reid remains grateful for the experience. "Euphoria's a really special thing, and I'm so glad that's a part of my legacy and that I was part of such a cultural phenomenon. I'm forever grateful, forever indebted, and I can't wait to see what season 3 has in store."

Reid's journey serves as a testament to the fact that success and education are not mutually exclusive. Her story is an inspiring reminder to young people that they can pursue their dreams while also prioritizing their education.
