Prepare for a delightful mix of heartfelt storytelling and comedy. From Andrew Ahn's refreshing take on Ang Lee's classic, the new 'Wedding Banquet' stars Bowen Yang, Lily Gladstone, and Kelly Marie Tran Stage.

AceShowbiz - The world of queer cinema is about to be graced with a refreshing twist on a classic. Director Andrew Ahn, known for his 2022 critically acclaimed film "Fire Island," is returning to the big screen with a reimagining of Ang Lee's 1993 queer rom-com, "The Wedding Banquet."

The new adaptation, retaining elements of the original but bringing a modern flavor, features an impressive ensemble cast, including Lily Gladstone, Kelly Marie Tran, Bowen Yang, Han Gi-Chan, and the Oscar-winning Youn Yuh-Jung.

The storyline follows two queer couples: Angela (Tran) and Lee (Gladstone), who are struggling with unsuccessful IVF treatments, and Min (Han) and his commitment-phobic boyfriend, Chris (Yang), who are up against an expiring student visa.

Min proposes a fake marriage to Angela to solve their collective problems - securing his green card while funding Lee's IVF treatment. However, chaos ensues when Min's grandmother arrives from Korea, intent on turning the sham wedding into a grand celebration.

"The Wedding Banquet" premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival, garnering positive reviews. Variety's Carlos Aguilar praised Ahn as "a talented and versatile storyteller" and highlighted Lily Gladstone's performance.

Screens are about to light up with laughter and emotion when the film hits U.S. theaters on April 18.
