AceShowbiz - Jenna Ortega, known for her commanding presence in the hit Netflix series "Wednesday," has no interest in Marvel Cinematic Universe - because she already had her moment in the franchise.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ortega shared that she had appeared in 2013's "Iron Man 3", albeit in a blink-and-you-miss-it role. "I did it once," Ortega remarked about her brief MCU tenure. "It was one of the first jobs I ever did. They took all my lines out."
In the mofie, Ortega played the Vice President's daughter, a character shown briefly in a wheelchair, demonstrating the Vice President's (Miguel Ferrer) personal interest in the movie's Extremis plot.
The presence of her character indicated the Vice President's allegiance to the antagonists, hoping to use Extremis to help his daughter. However, Ortega's role was trimmed to just a few silent seconds on screen.
Despite her understated appearance, "Ant-Man" star Paul Rudd, Ortega's co-star from their upcoming project "Death of a Unicorn", hinted at the possibility of her character's return.
"Marvel is very good at kind of laying those breadcrumbs, so it might very well be that you come back," Rudd suggested, praising Ortega's talent. Yet, Ortega seemed resigned about the experience, quipping, "They even took my name away... I count that [as my MCU appearance], and then I move on."
Ortega is far from relying on a potential MCU comeback for her career. She has been busy with a slew of promising roles. She will reprise her role as Wednesday Addams in Netflix's "Wednesday". Additionally, she stars in "Death of a Unicorn" alongside Rudd, where they find themselves embroiled in a mystical adventure after hitting a unicorn with their car.
The young actress will also co-star with Natalie Portman in "The Gallerist," a film about a gallerist trying to auction off a man's corpse. Furthermore, fans can look forward to seeing Ortega in the adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's "Klara and the Sun," where she plays the titular character, and in a remake of "Single White Female" with Taylor Russell.
While Jenna Ortega might not be banking on another Marvel comeback, her diverse and growing portfolio shows that she's more than ready to conquer Hollywood, one unique role at a time.
