AceShowbiz - Two months after announcing her separation, Teddi Mellencamp is navigating the holiday season without her estranged husband and children. Taking to Instagram, the former reality star shared her plans for the day, which included ordering takeout, eating cookie dough and watching TV.
"In my Bridget Jones era," Mellencamp captioned a video of herself singing "All By Myself" while wearing pajamas. "If I didn't laugh at myself, I would cry."
Despite knowing that her kids were with their father, Mellencamp admitted to feeling emotional. "First Christmas without my kids," she wrote. "I know they're in great hands with an amazing dad, but that doesn't mean I can't feel some type of way."
Mellencamp encouraged her followers who were also struggling with divorce or separation, saying, "To all my parents out there going through this, I love you. What are all the tips for powering through?"
Her message received support from fellow "Real Housewives" stars, including Kyle Richards and Caroline Stansbury, who shared their own experiences of going through divorce.
Mellencamp's first Christmas alone came after 13 years of marriage to Edwin Arroyave. The couple filed for divorce in November, citing irreconcilable differences. Despite the challenges of co-parenting during the holidays, Mellencamp remains committed to putting her children first.
"My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter," she wrote in her divorce statement. "I am grateful for the love and support of my family and friends, and I will always cherish the time we have together."
